Objectifs

Overview of international finance presented with an operational approach. Management and financing are studied through case studies.


Présentation

This course is mostly based on case studies to help the students familiarize with the methods of international payments, including consignment, letters of credit, documentary collections…




-Technics of international payments- LORI and NOSTRI accounts (IBAN-SWIFT-Bank cheques-certified cheques...)


- Documentary credits


- Commercial information bank (COFACE), bank guarantee.


-Technics of short term trade financing (undrawn credit facilities, international factoring, acceptance of the export or import, foreign currency advances on the exchange fund account).


- Technics of medium to long run trade financing (supplier credit, buyer credit, EURO-CREDITS, EURO-BONDS, other instruments)


- Bank guarantees (mechanisms of guarantees, different types of guarantees )

This course involves preparation of cases that will be covered in class by groups of 5 or 6.

Mosts cases are real cases (based on the professionnal experience of the lecturer).
