International public law, criminal law (basic notions), English (read and spoken)

Objectifs

This course aims at presenting core elements if International Criminal Law, including the main international crimes.


At the end of the course, the student should be able to understand the overall mechanism and goals of International Criminal Law, including its interaction with other fields of law (Human Rights; International Humanitarian Law), make oral presentations in English, work as a team, interact with others.

Modalités d'enseignement

Oral presentation by the lecturer (with power point support), during lectures, interaction with students: continuous assesment of their understanding of the legal issues presented and questions/answers to enhance their best understanding, short presentations by the students themselves (in 4 to 5 members-groups) on specific topics defined at the first lectures.

Participation during the lectures, including oral presentations, written exam divided in 2 main parts:

1) theory (2/3 of the overall points)

2) casus (1/3 of the overall points)
