Conference “From Memory to Conflict: Algorithmic Mediation of the Past”
As part of the FUCE Summer School 2026, the Université Catholique de Lille is pleased to host a public lecture by Jasna Ćurković Nimac, Professor of Communication Sciences and Vice-Rector for International Relations at the Catholic University of Croatia.
Entitled “From Memory to Conflict: Algorithmic Mediation of the Past,” the lecture will explore how artificial intelligence is reshaping the way we remember, interpret, and engage with history. It will address the ethical challenges raised by algorithmic mediation, including misinformation, polarization, and post-conflict reconciliation.
This lecture, held in English, is open to students, staff, researchers, and anyone interested in the intersections of AI, memory, democracy, and peace.
