26th edition of the LILLE European Summer Program

This year, the program welcomes 359 students from 32 nationalities and 69 universities – the largest cohort since its creation in 2001. This record is a testament to the close collaboration with our partner universities and the program’s growing international reach.

The program runs across two sessions: ESP 1 from 20 May to 19 June, and ESP 2 from 23 June to 22 July 2026. This year, 227 students are taking part in the first session and 269 in the second, with 137 enrolled in both.

A diverse academic offer

This year’s edition features 17 courses delivered by the faculties and schools of the federation, spanning five key areas: Arts and Society, French Language and Culture, Humanism and the European Union, Innovation and Management, and Sustainable Development.

In partnership with JUNIA and Learn International, courses in Physics and Materials Science have also been offered since 2022 to engineering students from the University of Florida. This track has since attracted interest from other partner universities: students from Texas A&M University joined it for the first time this year.

A new satellite program: the LiDD Design Summer Camp

As part of the University’s international strategy to strengthen federation-wide collaboration, this year sees the launch of a new initiative: satellite program co-developed between the International Relations Office and institutions within the federation. The first is led by LiDD School of Design. Over four weeks, from 23 June to 22 July, six students will explore the industrial, design and textile heritage of Lille and the Hauts-de-France region through a designer’s lens, working across graphic arts, spatial design, digital media and tangible objects.

Cultural exploration: at the heart of the experience

The program offers a rich range of guided excursions: Bruges, Brussels, Reims, Normandy, and the memorial sites of the World Wars – which this year received the regional label “Hauts-de-France & United States: 250 Years of Ties“. Students also explore Lille and its surroundings through a guided city tour, group meals and academic visits.

A highlight of each session, the International Night transforms the campus into a true “Cultural World Cup”, where students take each other on a journey around the world through traditional food, music, dance and performances.
