Strengthening Academic Partnerships with India Through Erasmus+

In February and March 2026, Aurélien Raccah, Vice-Dean for International and European Development at the Faculty of Law at the Université Catholique de Lille, travelled to India as part of an Erasmus+ International Credit Mobility (ICM) program. During his stay at Christ University in Bangalore and meetings with O.P. Jindal Global University in New Delhi, he delivered a course on the European Union and explored new avenues for collaboration between institutions.

Beyond teaching, the mobility provided an opportunity to deepen longstanding partnerships and identify new opportunities in student and staff exchanges, joint programmes, research cooperation, and internationalisation initiatives. Discussions also focused on developing innovative short-term programmes and strengthening collaboration around European-funded projects.

The visit highlighted the growing strategic importance of India in higher education and research. With one of the world’s largest and fastest-growing student populations, India represents a key partner for European universities seeking to expand their international networks and foster intercultural learning.

Supported by Erasmus+, the mobility demonstrates the value of international academic exchanges in building lasting relationships, sharing expertise, and creating opportunities for students, faculty, and researchers on both sides. It also reinforces Université Catholique de Lille’s commitment to developing meaningful partnerships that contribute to academic excellence, global engagement, and mutual understanding.
