On April 7th, we welcomed 9 students from Kansai University (Japan) for the “Kansai-in-Lille Program” – a 9-month customized academic experience built in close collaboration with the university. It is designed to progressively integrate students into campus life, academic culture, French language, and the city of Lille.
The program is structured in four phases, worth up to 60+ ECTS:
- Spring semester: personalized courses in French Language and its culture, organized by CLARIFE
- Two sessions of the LILLE European Summer Program alongside 300+ international students
- An intensive pre-academic French course
- Fall semester: courses at faculties of the UCLille
For the full immersion, students benefit from guided visits in Lille and nearby cities, field trips to key historical sites across France and Belgium, networking events, and a volunteering experience assisting in teaching Japanese at Montebello High School. They also receive a complete hospitality package covering accommodation, administrative support, and a dedicated orientation program.
Since 2022, 20+ Kansai University students have participated in this experience, sharing very positive feedback about academic quality, language progress, cultural discoveries, travel opportunities, and international friendships built along the way.
