Several construction projects are underway in the emblematic Hôtel Académique building of the Université Catholique de Lille.
Every summer, specific work is carried out on the rooftops – including asbestos removal, zinc renovation, and replacement of skylights – to preserve and modernize this historic site.
The Observatory
In addition to roof renovations, a major project is taking shape through 2025, with the support of the University Foundation: the restoration of the Astronomical Observatory and the creation of a dedicated StarLab, a fully equipped room with digital and optical systems for star observation. This new space will allow visitors with reduced mobility to enjoy the wonders of the sky remotely, connecting directly to the telescope.

The Michel Falise Building
On June 12, 2024, the Faculty of Management, Economics and Science (FGES) moved into its new premises at 13 rue de Toul.
Named after Michel Falise, a renowned economist and the University’s first lay Rector (1979–1991), the building now hosts undergraduate students, several master’s programs, and all courses of the ISEA. Formerly occupied by HEI, the site is being adapted with new security gates, furniture, and audio-visual equipment to welcome students at the start of the academic year.

A New Auditorium Under Construction
Work has also begun on the Pierre Henri Simon Auditorium. Designed with sustainability in mind, this new space incorporates biodiversity and low-carbon initiatives. It is scheduled to open in 2025.

A New Building for PIKTURA
In Roubaix, the brand-new PIKTURA School building is nearing completion. The project brings together the art school and a student residence on a single site at the entrance of the Plaine Images hub. Opening is planned for the new academic year!

A New Campus for the Faculty of Law in Issy-les-Moulineaux
Construction is in full swing at Issy-les-Moulineaux, within the building known as Le Vaisseau (“The Vessel”) – a stunning, boat-shaped architectural landmark that will soon become the new Faculty of Law campus.
Set on the Île Saint-Germain, surrounded by the Seine, this exceptional site will host up to 1,500 people. Furniture installation is underway, the first three floors are complete, and the landscaped garden has been redesigned to offer an inviting, high-quality space for students.
