For the fourth consecutive year, the Université Catholique de Lille welcomed a delegation from Nottingham Trent University from 29 March to 1 April, as part of a collaboration built around two complementary strands: a student programme focused on youth engagement in Europe, and a research seminar bringing together academic staff from both institutions.
A student program focused on European challenges
As part of the European Challenges program, 32 students from NTU, accompanied by local representatives from Nottingham, Mansfield and Ashfield, worked alongside UCLille students on four shared themes: youth civic engagement, public health, democratic participation, and sustainable fashion.
For the first time, students from UCLille’s Humanities program fully joined the working groups. After a day of exchanges in Lille, the program continued in several European cities – Karlsruhe, Utrecht, Rotterdam and Antwerp – before concluding in Nottingham.
A research seminar to strengthen cooperation
At the same time, a research seminar brought together academics from both universities around key areas including science and technology, social sciences, business, and European project development.
The seminar strengthened dialogue between the two institutions and laid the groundwork for future collaborations, particularly in the field of European projects.
