Goal
- Better outline the main contemporary socio-economic question such as the ageing of the population and master several notions regarding demographics
- Develop the capacities of reflection and analyze an economic sector, in order to understand the mechanisms and their consequences such as the ageing of the population, the birth rate, the fertility rate
- Make one aware and analyze the links between economics and society (elderly people, childhood)
- Develop the capacities of reflection to analyze an economic sector in terms of numbers
- Take into account the socio-economic environment of an individual, a family, a territory, and a population and identify the coded indicators
- Know how to repair a communal issue of a group
- Know how to repair the given characteristics of a territory and contribute to the diagnostics
- Learn to collect given information
- Know how to intersect qualitative and quantitative given information
- Know how to connect constants regarding both the economic and social environment and take into account the evolution of social problems
- Know how to formalize and restore contemplative elements
- Know how to contribute to a diagnostic elaboration
- Know how to develop the results of a diagnostic

I) Descriptive statistics
- Definition of statistic parameters
- The techniques of putting into use given information (distribution tables, different graphic representations)
- Pertinent numeric indicators (proportion, central values, dispersion)

II) Demographics
- Basic definitions
- Recent tendencies of demographic evolution of France and the region
- Implication in maters of socio-politics
- Current perspectives and debates
