Bsics in operations management and inventory management.
Goal
At the end of the course the student should be able to :

Identify the 5 transportation modes and learn their respective characteristics:
- Discuss intermodal transportation
- Familiarize with several types of transportation specialists
- Understand the role of Incoterms in determining transportation responsibilities, risks, and costs
- Analyse the different network design options and discuss their strengths and weaknesses (AACSB- LO5C)
- Evaluate the trade-offs in transportation network design (AACSB- LO5D)
Presentation
- transportation infrastructure: transportation mode and intermodal transportation
- transportation operations : pricing, rates, paperwork and incoterms
- transportation and supply chain: design of transportation network & tradeoffs

Evaluation
Active participation of students is expected :contribution to class discussion and preparation of cases. Students will be assessed on theory understanding through a written exam (MCQ and open questions).
Their ability to analyze and to apply the techniques studied during the course will be assessed through a final case study ; several cases will be solved during the lectures to prepare for the final case.
