Présentation

Goal
At the end of the course, the student should be able to:

1. Recognize essential information about the dynamics of teams and complex systems
2. Analyze problems or situations using concepts, theories and approaches relevant to team dynamics and complex systems
3. Evaluate the appropriateness of applying methods and techniques specific to team dynamics and complex systems
4. Make recommendations and design action plans that enable teams to achieve their goals and those of the organization
Presentation
Teamwork is an essential component of how organizations choose to reach their objectives, but managers often struggle to ensure that the teams they manage work optimally. This course will develop on how individuals, teams and networks (i.e., groups of teams) interact by using a systems perspective. Complexity of this topic lies in the understanding of which type of team is best to reach specific organizational objectives coupled with the identification and application of situationally adequate team management approaches. Such complexity will be learned with a highly interactive pedagogy building on student participation to foster learning as well as evidence-based management principles.
