Présentation

Prerequisite

Be at a A2/B1 level in German. Fluent written and oral comprehension. Can express oneself through writing and speaking on subjects pertaining to general culture.


Goal

Study German civilization: Work on current subjects, subjects that demonstrate the importance of industry in the German economy, in the broadest sense of the term, and taking into consideration other aspects such as society, politics, geography, and the environment.


Develop economic and general vocabulary, know how to analyse statistics and graphs, and improve and deepen spoken and written expression.


Presentation

Part 1: « Standort Deutschland », the advantages and disadvantages of Germany as a place of establishment.


Part 2: Particularly industrialized regions and growth sectors


Part 3: Germany: Champion of exports, foreign perceptions

Forms of instruction

Course given over two semesters

Instruction will be based on interactivity, thus speaking is a priority. We will work with documents that may invite you to speak and do presentations. Discussions and case studies will complement your learning.

Assessment Methods: Continuous assessments (Participation in class, homework, presentations) and oral comprehension tests.
