- Understand how the make-buy and outsourcing decision prefaces the management of the purchasing and supply management process - and how that decision should be made
- Recognise the standard purchasing and supply management process
- Examine different purchasing strategies
- To identify, establish and build relationships with key suppliers.
Presentation
This course aims to provide students with an understanding of the impact that purchasing has on the success and profitability of firms in today’s business environment. The course will expose students to concepts and principles in strategic purchasing implemented in diverse firms. The course will provide applied learning opportunities in strategic purchasing through a combination of lectures, case analyses, and group exercises.
