Prerequisite
To follow this course, the student must be curious about the political, economic, social, cultural, environmental news ... They should read the press, listen to the radio and follow the information sites on a regular basis.
Ability to analyze and summarize - to know how to prioritize information
Developing technical capacities to produce a Press Release and editorial capacities.
Goal
Understanding the role and the usefulness of the Press Release, to adapt it to the digital world through which most of the communication of today passes.
Designing a digital press release from the point of view of layout and writing.

Identifying the different formats of newsletters, specific web writing and practicing the exercise.
Presentation
- Analysing economic, political and social news
- Delivering a press release

There is a continuity to this course in 3rd Year

Forms of instruction
- Lecture about the topic "communicate with the press; the journalism jobs; the expectations of journalists" - Seminar : the topic of traditional PR (to the journalists) and the topics about PR 2.0 (to the bloggers). The same topics could be teached from both angles

Evaluation
Test and Exam in the computer room : delivering a press release about a set topic and a set target + Course questions for the exam

Grading criterion for the test: 10 points for course questions, 10 points for the press release (5 points for the form and 5 points for the content)

Grading criterion for the exam: graded on the content with a decreasing scale for the form elements (-1 point by missing element) and also for the spelling
