1. Analyze supply chain structures and the main causes of the Bullwhip Effect, becoming able to breakdown complex organizational problems using the appropriate methodology
2. Recognize good supply chain practices and compare the main collaboration practices that can be implemented along the supply chain (VMI, Consignment Stock, CPFR)
3. Manage a supply chain of a company, considering the main trade-offs related to forecast, supplier selection and stock management processes, employing state-of-the-art management techniques
4. Deep dive on the relationship between supply chain risks & illegitimate trade, making effectual organizational decisions
5. Demonstrate an expertise on key concepts, techniques and trends in their professional field
Presentation
1. Discussion of the strategic fit between corporate strategy and supply chain & operations strategy
2. Main supply chain goals, decisions and strategic fit: Lean vs Agile Supply Chain
3 Beer Game Simulation - the simulation will give the students the possibility to experience the Bullwhip effect and understand the impacts that data sharing and process syncronization along the supply chain may have on company performances
4. Collaboration practices along the supply chain (VMI, CPFR, Consignment Stock) and connecting customers and suppliers
5. Illegitimate Trade and SCM risks: Track & Trace technologies (RFID, holograms, etc) for supply chain protection and anti-counterfeiting
6. End to End interactive supply chain simulation that give the opportunity to the participants to try their hands at managing a complex supply chain, taking the main decisions related to forecast, supplier selection, production and stock management processes.
During the lectures, company cases from Li & Fung, Luxottica, Zara, OVS, KIKO, Versace and Bulgari will be discussed.
