Goal
At the end of the course the students will have an understanding of the concepts of enterprise architecture and the linkages between enterprise architecture and IT strategy and the operative capabilities of a firm. The main takeaway of the studetns will be the tools to aid the process of designing an enterprise architecture.
Presentation
The course aims to bring to the attention of the studetns the basic fact that in a time of digital innovations and cloud services, the operations of an organization still depends on the enterprise architecture of the firm. Quick solutions enabled by the cloud or shadow solutions initiated outside IT may give a short lived competitive advange but live the organization with a long lived technological debt that - over time - adds costs and it is hard to maintain. The course Enterprise Architecture and IT Strategy provides the students with the tools to manage the complex balance between control and agility so that an organization can enjoy both speed and sustained competitive advantage.
