Goal
At the end of the course the student should be able to :
Understand the implications and opportunities of Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) for firms and society
Assess the stakeholder view of the firm and its implication for CSR
Compare and contrast the interests of the various stakeholders of the firm and their implications for CSR
Design and present a CSR plan aligned with the firm's overall strategy
Presentation
An increasing number of organizations have been developing and implementing Corporate Social Responsability (CSR) strategies across the globe. This course discusses the reasons behind these initiatives and focuses on the triple bottom line approach and the stakeholder view of the firm. It also emphasizes on (1) hybrid and inclusive business approaches that help contribute to both societal and economic progress and (2) various CSR strategies and types of collaboration between for-profit firms, NGOs and public sectors.
