Goal
At the end of the ocurse, the student should be able to :
Communicate effectively in English to explain a business model (L01C)
2. Breakdown complex organizational problems using the appropriate methodology; specifically, use BPMN and UML to model business processes (L03A)
3. Use metaphors to describe createive approaches to business problems (L03B)
4. Convey powerful messages using contemporary presentation techniques; specifically, present, explain, and discuss a business model (L04C)
5. Determine problem areas in a process and design solutions for those problem areas (L05B,L05D)
6. Employ state-of-the-art management techniques (BPMN and UML) (L05C)
7. Demonstrate an expertise on key concepts, techniques and trends in their professional field (L07A) Specifically modeling, troubleshooting, improving, and redesigning business processes
8. Be a reference point for expertise-related questions and ambiguities about business proceses (L07D)

The course includes a group project with presentation. Due to the international nature of the students in the MBAC program, this implies the need for students to work multiculturally and commuincate effectively in English (L01A, L01B) to model a complex system (L03A,L05B,L05C,L05D,L07A,L07C,L07D), propose revisions (L05B,L05D,L05C,L07A,L07B,L07C,L07D), and propose a reengineered solution (L03B)

2. Formal Methods (BPMN): Tasks, flows, swimlanes, pools, actors; Gateways;Events
3. Root Cause Analysis: Pain points; Ishikawa (fishbone) diagrams
4. Quality: Value of quality; Statistical control
5. Informal Methods (UML): Domains and domain experts; Metaphor; Semantic nets; Objects; Stories; Sequence diagrams; Activity diagrams; State diagrams
