Présentation

Prerequisite
Knowledge acquired during the preparatory classes
- Thermodynamics of Steady Flow
- Application of the 1st and 2nd principles to simple elements (compressors, turbine, reducing valves …)
Goal
- Students are to learn the basics of thermal machines: main principles, cycles and diagrams.
- Moreover, they are to know how to establish an energy balance (energy efficiency and performance) of thermal machines.
Presentation
Principles, cycles, work output and energy balance of:
- Internal-combustion naturally aspirated engines: Diesel, Petrol, Turbocharged engines
- Turbo machines: jet engines, turbo-props
- One or Multi-stage Steam Turbines
- Refrigerator and/or Heat Pump
- Reciprocitating Compressors
