Présentation
Prerequisite
- Mathematical Tools for Electrical and Automatic control Engineering
- General Concepts of physics (preparatory classes)
- Analog Electronics course
- General Concepts of physics (preparatory classes)
- Analog Electronics course
Goal
Students are to master the metrological approach of the measuring chain (from sensor to signal treatment). Moreover, they are to know the links between principles of physics, laws of physics, and sensor technology.
Presentation
Sensors :
- Definition and classification of sensors
- Performance of sensors and meteorological characteristics
- Principles and laws used for the measurement of physical and chemical units
Signal-processing electronics :
- The instrumentation amplifier
- Conditioner or adapter, depending on the sensor
- Analog-to-digital converter
- Physical units, classification and performance of sensors
Error analysis :
- Sources of errors
- Errors and uncertainties
- Calculation of errors: average, dispersion, error analysis, etc.
The measuring chain :
- Example of a measuring chain
