At the end of the course, the student should be able to:
– Understand the major approaches and related methodologies of project management;
– Engage in a work breakdown structure (WBS) to thoroughly understand the activities of a project;
– Acquire the tools necessary to effectively manage time and resources for leading business projects in diverse environmental contexts (AACSB);
– Manage carefully a project’s milestones, time required (Gantt), and available resources (e.g., budget);
– Build and organize an effective project team.

This course introduces students to the following topics:
– Projects and project management: Definitions, characteristics, history, and actual scenarios;
– WBS, OBS, RAM and GANTT: The tools of project management;
– Project and team organization;
– Influence, matrix, and dedicated project organizations. Alignment of task and organizational architectures;
– Risk management: Planning and operating management;
– Project leader’s competences and the social relations in a project.
