The Global Markets course aims to provide students with an advanced understanding of the dynamics, opportunities, and challenges of operating in an increasingly globalized business environment. It seeks to develop a critical and strategic perspective on how globalization shapes international marketing decisions, corporate strategy, and sustainable business practices.
More specifically, the course aims to:
- Explore the processes and impacts of globalization on trade, transport, and the environment, and understand their implications for global marketing and business strategy.
- Critically examine the relationship between global business and sustainability, with particular attention to green capitalism, climate change, and the ethical responsibilities of multinational corporations.
- Analyze the interplay between globalization, world peace, and human rights, assessing how global enterprises influence and respond to social and political challenges.
- Understand the role of global human resource management in shaping international competitiveness and organizational culture across borders.
- Evaluate key theories of international trade, government policies, and regional economic integration to understand their effects on global market access and firm performance.
- Assess the role of foreign direct investment (FDI) as a driver of global business expansion and a key element of international marketing strategy.
- Foster critical thinking and strategic decision-making skills relevant to managing marketing and business activities in diverse and complex global contexts.
