The Research Committee

The University Research Committee is a statutory committee of the Catholic University of Lille (CR-UCL).

Reformed in October 2017 to ensure better representation and alignment with the strategy of the federation’s institutions, it is composed of pairs representing the 12 research units and teams of the University’s institutions. Its members share significant experience and commitment to research (supervision of theses or HDRs, management of or participation in major research contracts, awards or special distinctions, etc.).

Role and responsibilities of the CR-UCL

  • Participate in the development of the research strategy in collaboration with research partners;

  • Promote cooperation between research teams and units;

  • Initiate, support, and coordinate participation in calls for proposals from public authorities, companies, or research organizations, and identify and promote other sources of research funding;

  • Promote the University’s research both internally and externally;

  • Propose the allocation of the University’s own research funds, known as federative funds, provided by the Fondation de la Catho.

The CR-UCL federative funds :

Thanks to the Catho Foundation, the Catholic University’s Research Commission is able to allocate funds known as ‘federative funds’ on an ongoing basis, dedicated to research. Each year, these funds enable the awarding of thesis prizes and the co-financing of emerging projects proposed by permanent lecturers and researchers at the Catholic University of Lille. Applications for support addressed to the Research Commission of the Catholic University of Lille are evaluated during its five annual meetings.

Through its support for research, the Catho Foundation promotes dialogue between researchers and the economic and associative fabric.
