Research platforms, equipment and resources: UCLille’s research units are equipped with several platforms, equipment and resources for research, including collections and archives….

The VAUBAN University Library
Located at 60 rue du Port – it has over 320,000 printed works and 3,300 journal titles…
The Vauban University Library portal (https://lol.univ-catholille.fr) provides access to 430,000 e-books, 42 databases and 120,000 electronic journals. The collections (printed and electronic resources, as well as heritage resources) cover all fields of knowledge. The library has 338 seats and is open to all members of the Catholic University of Lille, as well as to external users who have taken out a subscription.

Experimental Anthropology Laboratory
ChatGPT a dit :
Platform for Behavioral and Experimental Sciences
The Anthropo-Lab is equipped with a technical platform that provides the equipment and logistical resources necessary to implement the experimental method — whether in the laboratory, in the field, or online. The equipment also includes neurophysiological measurement devices (such as electrodermal activity sensors and eye trackers).
Laboratory experiments are conducted at 14 Boulevard Vauban in Lille, in a dedicated facility equipped with appropriate technology and capable of hosting up to 30 participants. Individual booths are separated to prevent uncontrolled interactions between participants.
The platform is also equipped with technology enabling online experiments, with up to 500 participants of different nationalities connected simultaneously via their smartphones. The Anthropo-Lab maintains a participant panel of around 3,000 individuals and students from various disciplines, partially renewed each year.

ENSEMBLL
Living Lab Learning Unit
Ensembll is the Living Lab learning unit of the Université Catholique de Lille. We support students, residents, and employees in developing their collective projects for social innovation.
At the core of our activity are initial and continuing education, support for public and private organizations, and the management of two third places:
-
the Lab Humanicité (focused on living well together), and
-
the Lab Moulins (focused on aging well together).

The RIZOMM building
Demonstrator Building
The Rizomm building, both a demonstrator and experimental site, serves as a research object, particularly in connection with the activities of the EXplorers of the TRAnsition (EXTRA) Chair.
The experimental terrace is designed to test various materials—in partnership with industrial companies—regarding their response to weather conditions, aging, and deterioration.
The building also enables data collection on energy behaviors and the testing of certain practices that may help reduce energy consumption, such as nudges.

Archive collections
ChatGPT a dit :
-
The archives of the Acoustics Laboratory from the former Faculté Libre des Sciences (now integrated into the Faculty of Management, Economics and Sciences – FGES);
-
The historical archives of the Faculty of Medicine, Midwifery and Health Sciences (FMMS);
-
The collection of old French and international newspapers;
-
The Henri Vaillant Collection on the work of philosopher Alfred North Whitehead, integrated into ETHICS in 2018.
These archival collections represent a valuable resource for research projects, research-based training, and exhibitions that they coordinate or contribute to. Some of these archives are housed in the Vauban University Library.

Scientific collections
The ICL has its own resources, including:
-
Collections managed by the FGES (geology, mineralogy, anthropology, botany, and zoology), which are showcased annually through exhibitions and loans to the Lille Natural History Museum.
-
Medical collections, some of which are on permanent display in the FMMS: wax models illustrating dermatological pathologies (the ancestors of slides); surgical instruments and laboratory equipment; anatomical specimens from dissections by faculty and students in the anatomy lab; and medical books.
-
Scientific and digital equipment, including:
-
Faro Focus Premium (3D laser scanner)
-
HX Einscan (3D scanner)
-
Insta360 Pro 2 (360° camera)
-
15 Pico 4 Enterprise Edition VR headsets
-
OpenBCI EEG headset kit
-
8 Vive Tracker 3.1 devices
-
-
A Center for Historical Geography Resources (FLSH), created in 1989 and housed in a dedicated space since 2011. The center has organized multiple exhibitions, including a traveling exhibition across the region over the past three years (commemorating the centenary of World War I). It contains approximately 12,000 maps, atlases, and old works covering all countries from the late 16th to the 20th century, complemented by an extensive photo archive.
-
A botanical garden and arboretum, located in front of the FMMS building, featuring a collection of medicinal plants as well as rare and remarkable species.
-
Within the Digital School (FGES), the PEIA DemoES project equipment.
-
Two academic journals:
-
Culture com’, published by the FLSH
-
Mélanges de Science Religieuse, published by the Faculty of Theology (FT) and the FLSH.
-
ICAM
Platform for Plant Biomass Valorization: Eco-Extraction Equipment (Ultrasound-Assisted Extraction) – Ultrasonic Probe
This technological platform aims to develop sustainable valorization pathways for plant biomass, addressing both low-carbon energy production and the development of bio-based materials.
Within ICAM Lille, a new research platform is being developed around the shared research theme “eco-technologies for biomass valorization.” The project’s main goal is to adopt an integrated approach that covers the entire value chain of biomass transformation.
