At the end of the course, students should be able to :
– Identify and explain economic concepts and theories related to the behavior of economic agents, markets, industry and firm structures, legal institutions, social norms, and government policies;
– Analyze the determinants and consequences of the international integration of markets as well as the challenges and risks of international trade and investments (AACSB);
– Appreciate the impact of globalization on goods, labor, and financial markets (AACSB).

This course deals with the following topics:
– Introduction to the global environment;
– Causes and consequences of international trade;
– The fragmentation of the value chain: foreign direct investment, international outsourcing;
– The regulation of international trade: trade policy instruments, domestic government and the WTO and regional economic integration.
