At the end of the course, the student should be able to:
– Understand the complexity of cultural diversity management within a national and global context;
– Appreciate differing managerial styles and approaches to cultural diversity management;
– Understand the socio-cultural dimensions of cultural diversity;
– Know what communication-related issues could affect cross-cultural management;
– Recognize how personal culture influences business interactions in a multicultural environment (AACSB);
– Understand the ethical and CSR related aspects of intercultural management.

Intercultural management is a multidisciplinary approach to identifying, understanding, and managing problems characterizing interactions among individuals, between individuals and society/organizations, and between individuals/organizations and their communities. The ability to understand, communicate, and interact appropriately in such an (international) environment is of vital importance to succed in today’s globalized world. In this course, we examine different theories on cross-cultural communication and management. The aim is to explore cultural factors and their impact on global managerial practices, including in relation to CSR and business ethics. Furthermore, this course complements other management and organization disciplines in developing cross-cultural management skills and knowledge essential for graduates entering managerial careers in increasingly globalised economies around the world.
