• Contents of the CIR1 Mathematics class (hence a fortiori of high school math)

• First term of CIR2 Mathematics
Goal
• To acquire the basic mathematical notions pertaining to the practice of engineers in computer science.

• To appreciate the power (and shortcomings) of abstract reasoning when it comes to answering concrete questions.

• To develop the use of computer algebra and visualization tools as a means to enhance intuition and stimulate problem-solving.

• To acquire communication skills allowing the student to explain their ideas to their peers.

• Linear algebra, continued

• Group actions and applications to counting

• Endomorphisms: determinant, diagonalization

• Inner product spaces

• Introduction to Fourier series
