An introduction to problems met in road and rail transport, with a special focus on automated transport.

CONTENT

Introduction of the transportation system in Europe and its associated issues in industrial, scientific and human domains. Innovation issues. Study visits to confront real industrial issues. Case studies. Personal research project with guidance from the students from ICAMs Railroad Engineering Master Course. Design of a model / small object to illustrate the transportation theme.

COMPOSITION OF THE COURSE

A class of maximum 25 students for a more interactive teaching
courses, company visits, lectures, case studies and a project + a visit to the European Parliament

Final exam (oral presentation in group) + participation in class
