Students who register for this course should be familiar with
1. basic calculus, statistics and probability theory;
2. basics of international economics (traditional and contemporary theories)
3. basics in micro and macroeconomics (GDP determinants for instance, laws of supply and demand)
4. basics in accounting and financial markets.

Objectifs du cours

- explain how the past and current international monetary systems work;
- detect the risks faced by MNEs when conducting international operations;
- explain the various international currency regimes and determine under which conditions they are to be chosen by the policy makers
- record international transactions in a balance of payments;
- use the various exchange rates for further study of hedging strategies against currency risk

Contenu du cours

This course aims to provide students with knowledge of the international finance and skills of managing financial assets in a global environment. The topics include multinational financial management; international monetary system; international monetary arrangements; balance of payments; and foreign exchange exposure.
