Objectifs du cours

At the end of the course, the student should be able to:
* formulate the importance of talent management for organizations in today's society
* be aware of the different ways to define and assess talent
* define and describe the value of different approaches to talent management
* critically identify the impact talent management has on employees and the organization as a whole
* provide recommendations for the development and implementation of a talent management program
* have greater awareness about ESRS topics related to talent management such as (in)justice, secrecy and talent derailment

Contenu du cours

This course will consist of four major parts:
1. Part 1: The ‘war for talent’: In this part, we will discuss what the war for talent is and why talent management is becoming increasingly important for organizations.
2. Part 2: Defining and measuring talent. This part will focus on different definitions of talent and on identifying which tools exist to assess talent
3. Part 3: Defining talent management. In this part, different approaches to talent management will be discussed and evaluated as well as the development of a talent management program.
4. Part 4: The dark side of talent management. This part will focus on typical managerial problems related to talent management (e.g. derailment, burnout, justice issues, secrecy,…)
