Pré requis

- Involvement and open-mindedness, interest in relationship dynamics
- Basic knowledge of Interpersonal communication
- Personal experiences of interviews, of chairing /participating in meetings, of public speaking involving more than 20 people.
-Good knowledge and mastery of the English language.

Objectifs du cours

At the end of the course, the student should be able to:
- Prepare public speaking interactions on their own: have a clear idea of their goals and objectives, get organized, get mentally and physically prepared, use adapted techniques .
- Be better understood and listened to when speaking publicly.
- Prove convincing and leave a mark on the audience’s mind when performing.

Contenu du cours

During these 2 days course involving a dozen students, individual training, sub-groups exercises, role plays, collective sharing and theoretical input will be provided. This seminar is based on active taking part and personal involvement. The following concepts will be developed:
- Preparing public speaking interactions, getting mentally and physically prepared,
- Using nonverbal and paraverbal techniques: gesture, posture, gaze, smile, voice, articulation, volume, intonation, etc..
- Structuring content.
- Shaping one’s presentation: VAK perception models, adapted communication resources
- Gaining facilitating and effective behaviours.


Modalités d'enseignement

Organisation du cours

Effective Presence :
During the seminar, students will get the opportunity to train and practise in close-to life exercises, to spot and use the main public speaking concepts and techniques, give and get enriching feedbacks from the other students and from the tutor

Personal work :
At the end of the first day, students are expected to go through what was experienced during the day again and to come up with situations for the next day.
A written report has to be delivered 15 days after the session aiming at showing how concepts, training and experiences were integrated.

Self-learning :
Students will be asked to assess and question their practice as well as gather material on the main notions related to public speaking, interviews, meetings before, during and after the seminar:
Documents are available on ieseg online, bibliography is also provided, personal research can be conducted
