Pré requis

Students are supposed to know the basic concepts of operations management and optimization methods. The students are also asked to use Excel.

Objectifs du cours

At the end of the course, the student should be able to :
- Recognize the importance of proper global transportation planning
- Understand the role of Incoterms in determining transportation responsibilities, risks, and costs
- Analyze the key issues in effective international transportation mode and carrier selection
- Evaluate the critical factors in route design for international shipments
- Understand the different network design options and their strengths and weaknesses
- Evaluate the trade-offs in transportation network design

Évaluation

Students will be assessed on theory understanding through a written exam (MCQ and open questions).
Their ability to analyze and to apply the techniques studied during the course will be assessed through case study solving and mini-projects.
