Objectifs du cours

- assess a company's information systems in light of the latest information systems trends
- understand when investing in a specific information system is a good/bad idea
- Have greater awareness about ESRS topics such as planned obsolescence and website visitor tracking practices

Contenu du cours

1. We investigate 20 trends in information systems innovations:

2. Through case studies, we identify when it is good to invest in a specific innovation:
* Baja Beach case study: Will people actually use the new system? (UTAUT2 Theory)
* Under the Table Payments case study: Will people actually use the new system? (PMT Theory)
* Baja Beach case study: Can the new system give the company a competitive advantage?
* Zara Case study: Is a new system really needed?
* Goldfish case study: What is Business-ICT alignment?

Évaluation

There will be an exam during which students have to discuss a case study in line with the theory that was covered in class. Two presentations will be graded as well. Participation in class (including case study discussion) is also considered important. Case study preparations have to be submitted online before the start of the respective session.
