Learn In Lille, Live Europe (LILLE) - Short Term Programs


 

 

  

 

About the programs

Modelled on its highly successful month-long European Summer Program, offered every June and July since 2001, the Lille Short Programs are two-week long programs designed to give students from all over the world a unique academic and cultural experience, complete with group dinners, local and regional tours and opportunities to socialize with French students.

 

 

Content

 The programs offer:

  - French language classes (between 9 and 18 hours),

  - Intercultural Communication (2 hours),

  - Classes in a specific field of study with related guided visits (between 25 and 40 hours):

Introduction to France and Europe: Lille’s location at the heart of Europe in northern France, close to Brussels, London and Paris, makes it a perfect location from which to study both France and Europe – their history, culture, politics and more.

Business and Management in Europe: learn about the European economy and about trade in France and Belgium.

Western Front: examine a sampling of the rich artistic heritage of Flanders in its historical and physical context, from paintings to fictional films.

Innovation and Creativity:with classes on Innovative project management, Social Business, 3rd Industrial Revolution and more

Language level

Please note that all students are expected to possess academic level skills in English, but need not have previously studied French - beginners welcome!

 

Credits

Students will be awarded with a certificate to obtain credits. Please consult your advisor in your home university to assure the transfer of ECTS (European credits) to your credit system (more information about ECTS).

 

 

Fees                   

 

Program fees: 1350 €

This includes:

  - Tuition fees (number of hours depending on programs)

  - Course materials

  - Administration fees

  - Meal pass for lunches (Mon-Fri) at the university cafeteria

  - 3 group dinners in restaurants

  - Access to public transportation in Lille for the duration of the program

  - Pick-up at Lille Europe train station the first day of the program between 9am and 5pm

  - Extracurricular activities: orientation program on campus, activities, tours in Lille, fieldtrips to Belgium and other

 

Accommodation + 600€

Accommodation in double rooms in a 2-star hotel in Lille near campus and underground transportation. Dinners and breakfasts provided. Should you wish to arrange alternative accommodation, hostels and other hotels are available in the city.

 

Trip to Paris +250€ (depending on programs, not offered in December)

Includes 2 nights in a youth hostel in Paris, breakfasts and dinners at the hostel, boat cruise on the Seine River, and access to public transportation in Paris.

 

Module on French Gastronomy +100€ (for the January program only)

Complete your discovery of France with this module on French Gastronomy which includes dinners in restaurants and a seminar on cheese and beer.

 

Health and Travel insurance + 75€ 

Health and Travel Insurance coverage is mandatory for students taking part in the Lille Short Term Programs.Students can either arrange to take their own insurance or students under 25 can have coverage through the Université Catholique de Lille for an additional 75€. 

 

Not included:

Flight from your country to France

Passport/visa if required

Weekend lunches/dinners in Lille

Lunches in Paris
